In this episode, the crew faces the challenge of sourcing historical costumes for their production. With limited funds, they decide to borrow costumes from Dobele's cultural institutions, leading to a series of comedic events.
I joined the series starting with this episode as a set decorator. One of my first tasks involved transporting an empty coffin from a funeral home to the Dobele City Culture House to set up a funeral scene. This hands-on experience was both unique and memorable, marking the beginning of my creative journey with the show.

By accident, the crew realizes it's their makeup artist Zanīte’s birthday — a detail everyone forgot except for the sound guy, Buda. Meanwhile, according to Andris, the Brūnā zīme team is finally headed to a genuinely impressive filming location in Lapmežciems. Expectations are high… but of course, what they find when they arrive is exactly the kind of letdown they’ve come to expect.
As Andris’s usually unshakable optimism starts to show cracks, the crew scrambles to salvage the situation by heading to the Lapmežciems museum for help.
I worked as a set decorator on this episode, crafting the physical environment to support both the comedy and emotional undertones — from the travel scenes to the museum interiors. Building these quirky, character-driven spaces was key to keeping the improvised vibe grounded in visual storytelling.

After a wild night of partying, the film crew wakes up to an unexpected visit from the municipal police. With no memory of the night before and their sound guy Buda missing, they slowly piece together what happened — starting with the realization that they camped out in a tent right in the middle of Kuldīga’s central square. As the hangover lifts, the chaos of the previous night begins to resurface.
I worked on this episode as a set decorator, helping bring the improvised madness to life — including building the tent right in the heart of Kuldīga. I also ended up on screen as a character called Random Dude, popping up during the morning-after scenes.
Working on this project was a blast — director Jānis Skutelis and the crew kept the energy high and the story flexible, improvising much of the action as we went along.

The crew of the show Brūnā zīme arrives in the village of Uzvara — once home to a massive, thriving kolkhoz. While Oļegs and Andris scout the filming locations, driver Ritvars takes charge of entertaining the rest of the team with his wildly entertaining stories about the area. He’s in great spirits — unlike Oļegs and Andris, who are quickly losing patience.
The filming spots look depressing, and to make matters worse, the van’s owner shows up unexpectedly and takes back Latvija, the vehicle they had rented for five days. With morale low, Oļegs suggests they quickly shoot the intro, pack up their gear, and hitchhike back to Riga.
I worked as a set decorator on this episode, helping bring the unique vibe of post-Soviet countryside decay to life. From scouting rundown backdrops to dressing locations with era-appropriate elements, this episode was all about capturing the faded glory and strange humor that define the series.
