In late spring 2023, the skateboarding community in Latvia, particularly in the city of Cēsis, came together to open a heartfelt monument in honor of Kristaps Horns. Despite his untimely passing in 2020, his close friends were determined to ensure that his memory lived on.

The monument's unveiling was marked by a vibrant skateboarding event that drew participants from all corners of Latvia and even some from abroad. The event showcased the deep impact Kristaps had on the local skateboarding scene. The atmosphere was electric, with enthusiasts celebrating not only the sport they loved but also the enduring spirit of a cherished friend.

The event was a collaborative effort organised by Latvian skateboarders collective, featuring music by Vairis Kvēps, a skateboarding competition expertly hosted by Roberts Krūms, captivating photography by Nauris Dollins, and a visually stunning video courtesy of RajonTV Edvards Gabarajevs. Generous support came from Tikari Skateshop, who sponsored prizes that added an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

The heartfelt nature of the event was emphasized by the fact that the monument itself was made possible through the donations of Kristaps' close friends. This act of collective generosity spoke volumes about the depth of the friendships and the lasting impact Kristaps had on those around him.

As the skateboarders collectively paid homage to Kristaps Horns, the event served as a powerful reminder of the sense of community and shared memories that bind them together. The monument stands not only as a physical tribute but also as a symbol of the enduring spirit of skateboarding in Latvia, carrying forward the legacy of a person who played a significant role in shaping the local scene.
